PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge in which a bubble being mixed at the time of drawing ink from a first chamber into a second chamber is not pulled directly into a recording head which can thereby be prevented from not ejecting ink. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 1 comprises a first chamber 9 for containing a porous material 8 absorbing ink, and a second chamber 10 communicating with the first chamber 9 through a communication hole 15 made at a lower part thereof and containing ink, which are formed in a case 2 by a partitioning wall 7. The second chamber 10 is provided with an opening 17 for supplying ink to a recording head 72, and since a barrier wall 31 is provided on the shortest path connecting the communication hole 15 and the ink supply opening 17, a bubble is prevented from being pulled into the second chamber 10 from the first chamber 9.
