PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic porous body which has high strength although the ceramic porous body has porosity and pore diameters approximately equal to those of a conventional ceramic porous body, and to provide a ceramic filter in which the ceramic porous body is used as a base material, a filter membrane or an intermediate layer and which realizes a long stable operation period while exhibiting the filtration accuracy (performance for preventing passage) and a standard filtration amount, approximately equal to those of the conventional ceramic filter. SOLUTION: The ceramic porous body is obtained by sintering a raw material comprising at least an aggregate and a frit. The raw material of the ceramic porous body contains a fine aggregate. The preferable grain size of the fine aggregate is 1/2 to 1/20 of the grain size of the aggregate, and the preferable amount of the fine aggregate is 3 to 100 mass % to the mass of the aggregate.
