COMPOSITE PIGMENT, INK COMPOSITION AND PRINTED MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pigment for obtaining an ink composition having a shielding property and an excellent whiteness for a printing base material, and to provide the ink composition obtained by using the pigment and a printed material printed with the ink composition.

SOLUTION: Composite pigment comprises a titania/calcium carbonate composite particles produced by depositing calcium carbonate particles on the surfaces of titania particles and having 5 to 30 m2/g specific surface area, with a surface treatment layer containing at least one kind of compound selected from a group comprising resin acids, fatty acids, salts and derivatives of them formed on the surfaces of the composite particles. The weight ratio of titania to the calcium carbonate in the titania/calcium carbonate composite particles ranges from 1:99 to 50:50. The ink composition is prepared by compounding the composite pigment, and the printed material has a printed layer printed with the ink composition.
