PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bolt of a steering column from being sheared. SOLUTION: A recessed part 23 of a fixing gear 8 is fitted around a projecting part 22 of a fitting part 21 of a support bracket 7. Even if an excessive column upward load is applied to the steering wheel (omitting the illustration) in collision of a vehicle, this constitution can sufficiently receive the upward load by the fitting part between the projecting part 22 and the recessed part 23 and prevent two bolts 9a and 9b from being sheared caused by the insufficient strength of the bolts 9a and 9b.
