PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily polish the entire surface of a conveying part in a paper discharge roller. SOLUTION: This sheet conveying roller comprises the cylindrical conveying part for conveying a sheet at a predetermined speed and a projecting part having one or more projections projecting outside the outer diameter of the conveying part. A groove is disposed between the conveying part and the projecting part, and the conveying part and the projecting part are separated from each other on the surface of the conveying part, thereby preventing the projecting part from disturbing the polishing work of the surface of the conveying part.
