<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for waste treatment, in which substances like endocrine disruptors contained in waste such as livestock excrement are removed, prevented from scattering, and treated safely and inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for waste treatment comprises a waste-treating tank for treating waste 12, an extractor 20, and a combustor 30. The extractor 20 extracts with combustible solvent 22 substances like endocrine disruptors contained in the treated liquid 21 discharged from the waste-treating tank. The combustor 30 burns and treats the combustible solvent 22 containing substances like endocrine disruptors.
