PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy which has negative resistance-temperature properties excellent in linearity. SOLUTION: The ternary alloy consists of the three elements of B, Cr, and Si, and has compositional ranges of, by atom, 17 to 57% (preferably, 16 to 56%) B, 11 to 16% (preferably, 12 to 15%) Cr, and 31 to 69% (preferably, 32 to 68%) Si, and whose specific resistance and resistance-temperature coefficient can be controlled by heating.
