PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color imaging apparatus and a color imaging method in which work efficiency and reproducibility of image can be enhanced while keeping economy of ink. SOLUTION: When specified image data is printed on a specified number of sheets, a decision is made whether ink ends in any ink tank before print processing is completed based on the image data, the number of sheets being printed, the print mode, and the residual quantity of each color ink in the ink tank. If ink may possibly end before print processing is completed, corrected image data is generated using data for regulating the quantity of ink being used and the quantity of ink being used is regulated for the ink possibly ends before print processing is completed.
