PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a metallic thin film with appearance close to that of chromium electroplating and excellent durability on a metal or resin material without making a spot with lack of hiding, a wrinkle or a cracking. SOLUTION: The method sequentially forms a first resin coating, a metallic thin film with chromium appearance formed by sputtering while heating the first resin coating and a transparent second resin coating as a protecting membrane. The first resin coating is preferably heated at 40-90°C. An aluminum alloy or a nickel alloy is preferably used as the material for sputtering method. And the preferable thickness of the thin film formed by sputtering is 200-1,000Å. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
