PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building capable of efficiently performing natural ventilation. SOLUTION: A passage passing a plurality of rooms is formed in a building 1 to allow fresh air taken in from vertical pivoted windows 150A and 170A to flow therethrough. The vertical pivoted windows 150A and 170A are installed so as to face a direction in which wind blows most frequently in specified seasons. A ceiling 135 for ventilation projected upward from the other portion of a ceiling in the passage and higher than the other portions if the ceiling is formed in a part of the ceiling in the passage. Warm air is accumulated in the ceiling 135 for ventilation. The accumulated warm air is discharged from a window 250B. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
