PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To share a unit case, in a power unit for a vehicle to which either of an engine or an electric motor is selectively mounted as a power source. SOLUTION: The electric motor 100 is disposed in a relatively large space (crankcase 42) in which a main portion (including crank weights 45a, 45b, a balancer 54 and its weights 54a, 54b) of a crankshaft 45 is accommodated at a time of mounting the engine as a power source. A rotational shaft 106 of the electric motor 100 is pivotally supported by ball bearings 53a, 53b for pivotally supporting the crank shaft 45 at the time of mounting the engine as a power source.
