PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a nozzle plate with good printing quality, capable of ensuring the water repellency and stabilizing the ink droplet jumping direction. SOLUTION: The production method for a nozzle plate used for a head part of an ink-jet printer, comprises a step of forming an ejection hole 9 by directing a laser beam to a polyimide film 5, a step of forming a water repellent film 6 on the polyimide film on the ejection opening side of the ejection hole 9, and a step of eliminating an unnecessary part 7 of the water repellent material by etching in the water repellent film forming step.
