PURPOSE: Provided are an industrial wastewater treating agent containing fluorine and a method for treating thereof which are able to significantly lower the fluorine content, main impurities of the industrial wastewater. CONSTITUTION: The industrial wastewater treating agent consists of 37-55 wt.% of CaCO3, 34-42 wt.% of HCl and 0.1-12 wt.% of Na2B4O7·10H2O. The method for treating the industrial wastewater containing fluorine comprises steps of (a) after putting the industrial wastewater treating agent containing fluorine in fluorine-containing wastewater, adjusting pH of the wastewater to 9-10.5 by adding Ca(OH)2, NaOH or a mixture thereof to the wastewater and aerating it for 20 minutes; and (b) after adjusting pH of the wastewater to 6.5-7.5 by adding Al2(SO4)3 to the step (a) little by little with stirring for 10 minutes, putting a coagulation agent therein to precipitate it for 1-3 hours.
