<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable video telephone system of which visibility of a display screen during speech is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The portable video telephone system is provided with an image pickup means 1 for fetching a subject as image data, a voice input means 2 for fetching user's voice, an operation means 3, a communication means 4, a display means 5 for displaying operation results by the operation means 3 and the image data, back lights 6, 7 with which at least the screen of the display means 5 is irradiated and a back light control means 8 for controlling lighting of the back lights 6, 7. The video telephone system is further provided with an incoming voice input detection means 22 for detecting input of incoming voice from the opposite party of communication and a voice input detection means 23 for detecting voice input by the voice input means 2. The back light control means 8 controls the lighting of the back lights in response to presence/ absence of input operations by the operation means 3, presence/absence of detection of the incoming voice input by the incoming voice input detection means 22 and presence/absence of detection of the voice input by the voice input detection means 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
