FIELD: writing articles. SUBSTANCE: fountain-pen has casing with end opening and rod with refill ink in casing, and cap provided with opening and adapted for attachment to casing end with writing unit. Cap may be fixed in two other functional positions at opposite end. Cap and part of casing at end opposite to writing unit define cylinder-piston pair with cavity communicated with casing cavity through casing end opening and with atmosphere through cap opening, when cap is in functional position out of casing. Excessive pressure is created in casing cavity upon moving of cap to functional position, when cap is adjoining to casing, with cap opening being closed with finger. Casing end opening is sealed with available sealing gasket under the action of compressive force developed when cap is moved to functional position in adjoining relation to casing. Casing is provided with capillary opening for throttling air from casing cavity to the outside. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation and operational capabilities. 1 dwg
