PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition for fluid bearings which does not badly influence the performance of a dynamic pressure bearing used for a memory device, etc., and does not destruct a magnetic disk drive unit, etc., and a fluid bearing device. SOLUTION: This lubricant composition is prepared by compounding a base oil with, based on the total amount of the composition, 0.1-5 wt.% compound of which the value of (dipole moment/molecular weight)×100 (D.mol/g) is 1.0-3.8 (D.mol/g).
