PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a plurality of users to share the same storage media while ensuring security. SOLUTION: When users A to D share the storage media of a digital still camera, the users are allowed to use respective individual passwords, adesu, bda, cdayo and dyo. When the users A and C form a group, a group password, aagp, is registered in the storage media. The storage media of the digital still camera stores images along with the corresponding individual or group passwords. The images with the corresponding individual password can be accessed only by the individual password, and the images with the corresponding group password can be accessed only by the group password and the individual password belonging to the group.
