<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an encoder to automatically manage switching of reading of a file which is the object of encoding by a small-scale system and processing of a comparatively small load. <P>SOLUTION: A scheduler (encoding management device) 14 sets two or more program source groups 33 to the encoder 12 and defines a first program file 21 which has to be encoded first and a second program file which has to be encoded next to it to each of the two program source groups by referring to file specifying information 23 in which the order of encoding is described. Then, by referring to time management information 22 in which encoding starting time for starting encoding of each file is described, the scheduler 14 sends an instruction to the encoder to start encoding of the first program file at a prescribed time, changes the program source group to a prescribed time, and sends an instruction to the encoder to start encoding of the second program file. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
