PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary actuator having a much more miniaturized shape than a conventional rotary actuator by using two planetary reduction gears as a reduction means. SOLUTION: This rotary actuator is constituted in such a way that a motor 13 and an output shaft 21 are assembled in a holding body 2 in a case 1 through two planetary reduction gears 9, 20, and the output shaft 21 protrudes from the case 1.
