<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed copying machine, a high speed printer, etc., with a charging member that is excellent in impact absorbing characteristic in which unpleasant electrifying noise generated by vibration of a photoreceptor caused by force exerted between a photoreceptor and a charging roll, charging blade, a charging pad, or the like is decreased. <P>SOLUTION: The charging member has a charging part that contacts a body to be charged, and a support part that supports the charging part.
