<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method by which an SmFeN-based powdery magnet material having the highest magnetic characteristic that is reachable by magnet alloys of different compositions can be obtained by realizing uniform nitridation at the time of manufacturing the powdery magnet material, by nitriding the powder of an SmFe-based alloy with an atmospheric gas. <P>SOLUTION: The SmFeN-based powdery magnet material is manufactured by putting the powder of the SmFe-based alloy obtained by the roll quenching method in a rotary kiln internally provided with a plurality of fins running in the axial direction and nitriding the powder, by uniformly bringing the power into contact with a nitriding gas by repeatedly scraping up the powder by means of the fins and dropping the powder from the fins by rotating the rotary kiln while a mixed gas of ammonia and hydrogen is supplied into the kiln as the nitriding gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
