PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor of a simple structure capable of achieving compactness using a noncontact-type semiconductor. SOLUTION: A detecting ring 2 which moves in an axial direction according to a twist of a torsion bar 1 is mounted to the periphery of the torsion bar 1. A detecting flange 3 protruded in an radial direction is formed in the detecting ring 2. A magnet 4 with magnetic poles directed inward in the radial direction is arranged outside the range of movement of the detecting flange 3. A semiconductor Hall element 5 is inserted in a magnetic path by the magnet 4. It is possible to electrically detect variations in a magnetic field due to the twist of the torsion bar 1 and obtain torque. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
