PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal condition informing device capable of detecting an abnormal condition inside a home and reporting it to a portable terminal without installing any special emergency power source device. SOLUTION: This abnormal condition informing device 10 is provided with a notebook type personal computer 11 serving as a receiver having a storage battery 12 as a power source, a sensor 13 working by supply of power from the receiver for detecting a condition of an installation place, and a modem 13 working by power supplied from the receiver 11 for transmitting detection information from the sensor as display data in a terminal device 30 such as a cellular phone capable of indicating character information at least.
