<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device that discriminates the type of a plastic material with high accuracy without being affected by the properties, color, additive, etc., of the material based on spectral data in a near infrared region in which the material-specific absorption does not occur significantly, has a small size and a light weight, and causes few mechanical faults. <P>SOLUTION: The device which discriminates the type of an unknown material is provided with a light receiving mechanism section (P) which measures reflected light or transmitted light from the material to be measured and a temperature measuring section (T) which measures the surface temperature of the material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
