PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transfer signal quality by reducing recording loss, to improve durability by preventing the destruction of a master carrier pattern, and to suppress transfer failures when the master carrier is bonded to a slave medium, and a transfer magnetic field is applied to execute magnetic transfer. SOLUTION: A master carrier 3 has recessed and projected patterns by a magnetic substance 32 corresponding to information transferred to a substrate 31, a round radius R of the plane shape of a top surface corner in a roughly rectangular projected pattern 32a of the recessed and projected patterns is set to be 1% to 47% of a track width W, and thus the destruction of the corner is prevented, and recording losses are reduced.
