PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy generating method applying exothermic reaction of metal mainly composed of water and light metal. SOLUTION: In this energy generating method composed of a primary reaction to obtain hydrogen by reaction of the water and a combustion agent mainly composed of a basic oxidant mainly including water, light metal and active metal of the same kind, a secondary reaction to obtain the water by reaction of hydrogen generated in the primary reaction with one or more of nitric acid, perchloric acid, sulfuric acid, metal nitrate, metallic perchlorate, metallic sulfate or hydrogen peroxide, a tertiary reaction to obtain hydrogen by reaction of the water generated in the secondary reaction with one or more kind of light metal again, and a quartic reaction to make hydrogen generated in the tertiary reaction, be reacted with one or more of nitric acid, perchloric acid, sulfuric acid, metal nitrate, metallic perchlorate, metallic sulfate, or hydrogen peroxide, the secondary reaction and the tertiary reaction are repeatedly and continuously performed.
