<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a filter have high scavenging efficiency and excellent durability and usable even for fuel containing sulfur of high concentration, and to continuously regenerate the filter with little fluctuation of pressure loss even in an operation, in the diesel particulate filter (DPF) of particulate matter of exhaust gas mountable on a vehicle having strong vibration and regenerated by filtering, scavenging and burning particulate matter (PM) of exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The filter fixed to a main body and a moving section member (the contrary is possible) are combined. A filter section of a small scale (1/4 to 1/3 of the whole of the filter) independent of a flow passage of exhaust gas is constituted. A regeneration processing such as burning is performed for the particulate matter (PM) by the filter section.
