PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimal gradation display for every light emitting layer in an inorganic EL display device using two or more kinds of light emitting layers differing in voltage-brightness characteristics. SOLUTION: In the inorganic EL display device comprising a display panel 506 having light emitting layers A and B of different light emitting characteristics at the intersections of data side electrodes and scanning side electrodes, a data side driving circuit 503 for supplying a modulated voltage according to the signals inputted to the data side electrodes, a modulation-drive power supply circuit 502 for supplying a modulated power supply voltage to the data side driving circuit, a scanning side driving circuit 505 for line- sequentially supplying write voltages of the positive and negative polarities to the scanning side electrodes, a write driving power supply circuit 504 for supplying the write voltages of the positive and negative polarities and a constant voltage to the scanning side electrodes, and a driving control circuit 501 for controlling each part, the modulated voltage from the data side driving circuit 503 is adjusted within the range of a gradation number m + an adjustment range n on the basis of the characteristics of each light emitting layer.
