PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a pressure-resistance of a container accommodating a compression mechanism part of a compressor for compressing a coolant of carbon dioxide to a high pressure with HFC, HCFC or the like. SOLUTION: The coolant comprising carbon dioxide introduced through a coolant introduction pipe 30 is compressed by a first compression mechanism part 24 below a rotary compression mechanism part 22 provided in a closed container 12. The coolant compressed by the first compression mechanism part 24 is introduced to an upper second compression mechanism part 26 through a coolant introduction pipe. The coolant compressed to a further predetermined high pressure by the upper second compression mechanism part 26 is directly delivered to a coolant delivery pipe 34 and the compressed coolant is not delivered into the closed container 12.
