PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly restore communication when a staff of a remote monitoring part learns that a communication fault has occurred and when the communication fault requires a restoration work by the staff, etc., of the remote monitoring part in a remote monitoring system for connecting a part to be monitored with the remote monitoring part via a network using a TCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol) as a communication protocol and for displaying video photographed by the part to be monitored by transferring it to the remote monitoring part. SOLUTION: A transfer processing of the video from parts 1(1) to 1(n) to be monitored to the remote monitoring part 2 is performed by using a UDP (united data processing) and the remote monitoring part 2 is provided with a judgment means for judging presence/absence of reception of the video from the parts 1(1) to 1(n) to be monitored, a notification means for notifying that the reception is interrupted when no video is received and a disconnection/re- connection means for disconnecting connection with the parts to be monitored and for performing re-connection with the parts to be monitored when a state that no video is received continues for more than a fixed time.
