PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel sheet which has excellent heat resistance even if it is the thin one of≤1.0 mm thickness, and particularly has properties that burning loss is hard to occur in a high temperature region, and has excellent cost effectiveness. SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel sheet has a composition containing, by mass, 0.01 to 0.10% C, 0.01 to 1.0% Si, 19 to 26% Cr, 10 to 35% Ni, and 0.005 to 0.10% of one or more kinds selected from rare earth metals, and containing Mn in≥0.01% also so as to satisfy the following relational inequality, and the balance Fe with impurities, and has a thickness of≤1.0 mm: Mn(%)≤2.8×REM(%)-0.025×Ni(%)+0.95; wherein, Mn(%), REM(%), and Ni(%) denote the content (mass%) of each element contained in the steel.
