PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat shrink band capable of stabilizing the amount of beam drift while keeping a strength level causing no problem in explosion- proof characteristics, a steel sheet, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The steel sheet for heat shrink band having≥24 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>yield strength and used for an aperture grill type cathode-ray tube has 400 to 650 magnetic permeability in a magnetic field of 0.3 Oe. Further, the steel sheet for heat shrink band, whose surface is plated, can also be provided. Moreover, the heat shrink band using these steel sheets for heat shrink band can be provided. In the method for manufacturing the steel sheet for heat shrink band, a steel sheet containing, by mass, 0.5 to 2.0% Si is cold rolled and then annealed at 600 to 800°C annealing temperature to manufacture the above steel sheet for heat shrink band.
