<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart sufficient strength to coating layers in the case the coating layers are formed on the surfaces of conductive members, such as a developer carrier, an electrifying member, a transfer member, which are used for an image forming device, such as a copying machine or a printer, and to restrict variations in the electric resistances of the coating layers when environmental conditions, for example temperature and humidity, are changed, thereby enabling steady image formation. <P>SOLUTION: In the conductive members for the image forming device which has, for example, the developer carrier 4 for carrying toner t to a developing area opposite an image carrier 1 while holding it on its surface, the electrifying member 2 for electrifying the surface of the image carrier, and the transfer member 5 for transferring the toner image formed on the surface of the image carrier, the coating layers 41b, 2c, and 5c are formed on the respective surfaces thereof. The water absorption rate of each of the coating layers 41b, 2c, and 5c is in the range of 10 to 80%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
