PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary incoming call ringer of a telephone set on the incoming side in accordance with callers' intentions. SOLUTION: In this communication system 1, specified data (such as incoming call melody data, image data, text data) corresponding to a telephone number of a cellular telephone 7a is stored in a data base server 2 by performing registration processing between the cellular telephone 7a and a registration server 4, when a call is made from the cellular telephone 7a, the specified data stored in the data base server 2 associated with the telephone number of the cellular telephone 7a is acquired by an exchange device 3, the acquired data is transmitted to a cellular telephone 7b at a call destination with an incoming call signal and the specified data transmitted with the incoming call signal is reproduced and outputted in the cellular telephone 7b.
