PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having an evaporation pan which positively performs cooling by defrosted water of a compressor, improves the evaporation capacity of the defrosted water, and reduces the cost for noise countermeasures. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator in which the compressor 13 and a machine room 10 with the evaporation pan 11 disposed on an upper part of the compressor 13 are demarcated behind a lower part of a heat-insulated box body comprising an outer box 1a, an inner box and a heat insulating material filled therebetween, defrosted water discharged from a chamber is led to the evaporation pan 11 via a water discharge pipe 12, and the defrosted water is evaporated by utilizing the heat of the compressor 13, the evaporation pan 11 formed of a heat-resistant material with a projecting part 11a facing a head part of the compressor 13 formed on a bottom surface is pressed against a lower edge part of a back plate 1a1 of the outer box 1a and fitted with the projecting part 11a of the evaporation pan 11 to the head part 13a of the compressor 13 so that front and rear, right and left side surfaces of the evaporation pan 11 are formed in a bellows with elasticity.
