PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with a conventional liquid acidic detergent that, in cleaning a coated part of a common vehicle to remove dirty substances deposited thereon, a liquid acidic detergent partly drips down to damage the other members, scatters in the air to cause damage, inflammation, etc., in a human body, has a pungent odor inherent in an acid, causing inflammation of e.g. a mucous membrane in a nasal cavity, and, when mishandled, flows out of the premises, exhibiting dangerousness of polluting a natural environment such as a water channel. SOLUTION: This gel-type acidic detergent is prepared by adding a suitable amount of a gelling agent to a conventional liquid acidic detergent, then subjecting the acidic detergent e.g. to the step of heating to gel it, and adding a suitable amount of a deodorant to the gelled detergent to decrease the pungent odor of e.g. hydrogen chloride contained in a component of the acidic detergent.
