PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phosphor which can be produced by using a liquid phase method, has a small particle diameter and, simultaneously, a narrow particle diameter distribution, and furthermore has a good light emission intensity. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a phosphor to which a liquid phase method is applied, the method comprises a desalting step between the initiation and the completion of forming a precursor. Further, the desalting is preferably carried out by the ultrafiltration treatment. In the method for producing a phosphor to which a liquid phase method is applied, the electric conductivity at least at the time of completing the formation of a precursor is controlled in the range of 0.01-20 mS/cm. In the phosphor produced by the above method, the electric conductivity after firing is in the range of 0.01-5 mS/cm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
