PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new high solid coating composition, and a method for forming a multilayer coating film by using the composition. SOLUTION: The high solid coating composition is characterized in that it contains (A) a hydroxylated compound having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 or lower and a hydroxyl value of 200 to 800, (B) a polyisocyanate compound, and (C) an acrylic resin having a dimethylpolysiloxane side chain, and that the ratio of the component (A) to the component (B) is such as to provide a molar ratio of NCO to OH of (0.5:1) to (2.0:1). The method for forming a multilayer coating film is characterized in that it consists of one or more colored coating films and one or more transparent coating films, wherein the uppermost transparent coating film is formed from the high solid coating composition.
