FIELD: industrial coolers, type chimney-type cooling tower or mechanical draft tower, spray ponds, where the intensity of heat extraction depends on the dispersity of drips in the drip flow formed by spraying devices of various types. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in determination of the sizes of drips and the set of equations of drip motion in a curved trajectory, the diameter of only one drip flying in the maximum curved trajectory of the spraying jet is fixed at the experiment installation determining by calculation the initial speed of emergement of drips, whose initial angle of emergement corresponds to the inclination of the shear plane of the outlet edge of the spraying device relative to the horizontal plane, the width of the irrigation zone is determined at the experiment installation and further the sizes of all drips forming the drip flow of the spraying jet is calculated. EFFECT: reduced scope of experimental investigations and enhanced accuracy of measurements at determination of the granulometric composition of drips in the spraying jet. 2 dwg
