FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel undecylohydroxybenzoylamino-substituted phthalodinitriles of the general formula(I) where R is Br, OC6H5. Method for preparing these compounds involves acylation reaction of 5-amino-4-bromophthalodinitrile with p-undecylohydroxybenzoic acid chloroanhydride at heating. Prepared compounds can be used as intermediate substances in synthesis of novel octa-substituted metallophthalocyanines, in part, undecylohydroxybenzoylamino-substituted cobalt phthalocyanine used as dyes, mesomorphic compounds, unidimensional conductors, catalysts of different processes, materials in sensitive members of gas transducer, photosensitive materials for light-recording devices.
