PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack whose charging or discharging state can be indicated with the improved visibility by a light emitting device which is attached to the side surface or bottom surface of the battery pack and can be used as a communicating and identifying means. SOLUTION: A light emitting device 2 is attached to a side surface or a bottom surface of a battery pack 1. A means which enables the communication between the light emitting device 2, which emits a light, and a charger 4 when the battery pack 1 is mounted on the charger 4 to start charging is provided. Further, when the battery pack 1 is mounted on the charger 4 to start charging, the light emitting device 2 emits a light and a charging state is indicated by a light leaking through a gap between the charger 4 and the battery pack 1.
