<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new heat insulator showing high heat-insulating performance in a specified temperature range where to be heat insulated. <P>SOLUTION: The heat insulator uses sol generated by heating of a mixture containing a polysaccharide and a solvent or a gel obtained by cooling the sol at a temperature of not higher than the polysaccharide gel point. When standing this heat insulator to cool, the high heat-insulating performance is obtained at a temperature range around mainly the polysaccharide gel point, for example, at 45-37°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
