摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration to carry out high quality display in a multi-gap type liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus using the same, even when the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules is not aligned at a boundary portion between a transmissive display region and a reflective display region. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device 1 has a first transparent substrate 10 having a first transparent electrode 11 on a surface thereof, a second transparent substrate 20 having a second transparent electrode 21, and a liquid crystal layer 50. A light-reflecting layer 4 defining reflective display regions 31 and transmissive display regions 32 is formed in pixel regions 3, and a thickness- adjusting layer 6 having an opening 61 in regions corresponding to the transmissive display regions 32 is formed at the upper layer side. The thickness-adjusting layer 6 has slopes 60 at boundaries between the reflective display regions 31 and the transmissive display regions 32, and the upper ends 65 and the ends 45 of the light-reflecting layer 4 overlap each other in plan view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
