PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector sub-module that can be downsized even when the number of lines of the protector sub-module is increased. SOLUTION: The protector sub-module for preventing an over voltage/ overcurrent intruded from a communication line from intruding to a communication apparatus is provided with two printed circuit boards, on which a plurality of U slit terminals 9 connected in parallel and used for input line connection terminals, protector elements 4 electrically connected to the U slit terminals, an exchange side connector that is electrically connected to the protector elements and used for outgoing line connection terminals at the exchange side are mounted and a wiring port unit 13 fitted to and inserted between the two printed circuit boards to arrange jumpers, and the protector elements are characterized in that they are laid out in zigzag such that the adjacent protector elements to each other are shifted forward/backward.
