PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck device for an optical fiber body which can automatically make a multifiber type optical fiber body, such as a eight-fiber type optical fiber body, high in density. SOLUTION: An upper chuck 20 which has a fixed member 21 and a movable member 22 and a lower chuck 30 which has a fixed member 31 and a movable member 32 are arranged one over the other; and the upper chuck 20 and lower chuck 30 can be elevated by a driving mechanism part 40 and the upper chuck 20 can be elevated by a driving mechanism part 50. Further, the upper chuck 20 can be tilted at a specified angle by a tilt driving mechanism 60 to knit optical fibers F1 of an optical fiber body W<SB>1</SB>positioned and held by the upper chuck 20 and optical fibers F2 of an optical fiber body W<SB>2</SB>held by the lower chuck 30 alternately to high density.
