PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metal-plated organic polymer fiber by applying metal plating on the surface of an organic polymer fiber by electroless plating technique. SOLUTION: This metal-plated organic polymer fiber is produced by continuously carrying out a step to produce an organic polymer fiber having a silane coupling agent attached to the fiber surface by treating the fiber with the coupling agent, a step to produce an organic polymer fiber having metal particles fixed to the fiber surface through the silane coupling agent by metallizing the silane coupling agent fixed to the fiber surface, and a step to perform the electroless plating of the metallized organic polymer fiber by using a compound of the plating metal having an ionization tendency larger than that of the metal.
