PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a network configuration and network management by directly communicating with a scanner to acquire function information when a user wants to read an image from the scanner with a client PC, and to acquire reliable device information. SOLUTION: In a system in which a plurality of scanners with different functions and the PC are connected through a network, when the PC directly communicates with the respective scanners and the image is read from the scanners under the control of the PC, the image can be acquired from a scanner corresponding to a user condition by acquiring information on the scanners and selecting the scanner according to the information.
