PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply the overheating preventive function to the upper part of a high frequency heating device with a heating chamber separable to upper and lower parts, without using an electric component. SOLUTION: A light emitting source LED 23 and a light receiving element photo-transistor 24 are mounted on a part opposite to a lid 1 on the other side, and an optical fiber connecting a part facing the light emitting source LED 23 and a part facing the light receiving element photo-transistor 24 is attached near a wire gauze 4, which is a wall of a heating chamber, on the separate lid 1 on the other side of the heating chamber. Accordingly if the overheating or fire is generated inside the heating chamber and the optical fiber 7 is melted or damaged, the light of the LED 23 will not reach the photo- transistor 24, and a relay 36 is closed, so that an accident is prevented.
