AUTOMATIC ENGINE STOPPING AND RE-STARTING DEVICE OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or eliminate torque shock caused by overshooting of engine speed at the time of automatic restart of an engine 1. SOLUTION: An automatic engine stopping and re-starting device of a vehicle has an engine control part 13 for performing automatic stop and automatic restart of the engine 1 according to the driving condition of a vehicle. An intake manifold 4 is arranged at a valve downstream side of a throttle 5 of an intake passage 3. A check valve 11 for preventing flow from the intake manifold 4 to a negative pressure tank 7 and a solenoid valve 12 are respectively arranged at branch paths 8a and 8b of a communication path 8 for connecting the intake manifold 4 and the negative pressure tank 7. Immediately before automatic restart, the solenoid valve 12 is opened and the air in the intake manifold 4 is introduced to the negative pressure tank 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
