PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents communication system, a recording device, a communication method, a program for communication, and a recording medium for preventing the illegal distribution of contents data, and easily performing the personal borrowing/lending of the contents data. SOLUTION: A key generating means 22 of a recording device 20 generates a pair of keys K1 and K2, and encrypts those keys K1 and K2. A recording control means 24 records one of the encrypted keys K1 and K2 in a first recording medium M1, and records the other in a second recording medium M2. The first and second recording media M1 and M2 are distributed to the hands of a lender P1 and a borrower P2 of the contents data respectively. Communication equipment 30 for contents transmission to be used by the lender of the contents data is constituted so that data communication can be performed via the Internet 50.
